Diggin' some of the textures in the piece, particularly the palm leaves in the lower right corner.
This reminds me of the sci-fi "lost world" movies from the 1940's & early 50's.

Thanks, working at this scale really allows a lot more opportunity to use more texture, and get more visual interest from those textures
What the hell happened to the streetcleaner fembot?...at least, I assume it's a fembot, if those are implants & not body armor...
But seriously, this is good. The composition is perhaps a little bit too even in the other 3rds (by width) but it works. Great colors, they set the mood effectively. We know the robot is in trouble. Nice job.
thank you for the input on composition, it is something i struggle with. streetcleaner is not canonically a fembot in the ultrakill universe but i headcannon her as such :)
It's very good but yes, you are overthinking color values. I can barely tell the difference...am getting the impression you're going more by the RGB numbers instead of by how it looks onscreen.
I don't really follow the color values of the program itself. I tend to check both on my monitor and phone screen to make sure colors are showing up how they're supposed to. More often than not, I keep finding some oddities that I feel need fixing.
Though lately, it's felt like I'm the only one who notices these kind of things. Whether it's a monitor thing or a pet peeve of mine. I'm gonna have to learn to simply ignore it.
It could use a little work, particularly the nose & the folds in her shirt around the shoulder. But overall it ain't bad.
Though we don't know each other, I would like to ask you a favor. Namely this: as you do pixel art, would you not drop your oil painting, please? There aren't that many of us working in traditional media anymore. If enough of us did, maybe oils/acrylics/watercolor/etc. would get the attention they deserve.
Thanks for the feedback! And don't worry, I don't plan to drop my tradicional art, specially the oil painting as I love it very much
First comment/rating!
This is the best piece I've seen from you since I started following your account. You have outdone yourself this time. The shading on the robot & dead aliens (at least I think they're aliens), the depth of field...it all works. A bit more blood puddled around the corpses, maybe a splash here & there, would help. But overall it is excellent. Am curious as to what media you used for this piece...or should I say "what program"?
thank you, i used procreate for this and nearly all my digital art
Very urban...not sure what else to say about it.
Presumably there will be better lighting & shade once it's in the film?
well, i don't know if i will change the lighting and shading as i think it's already looking like a street enough to me, but thanks for the comment i may think about it, maybe i will put some parked cars in the background, but i'm not sure as it's just a background that will appear like for a few seconds on the full animation
There ain't no privacy in his swamp...
To be fair, it's not the most inviting of ecosystems.
Is he related to the Democratic presidential candidate from the mid-80's?...
(You know someone would pop the question, sooner or later)
Sorry, but no idea what you're talking about 😅
How long did it take you to draw this?
This particular one I think was from idea to execution 3 days. How I do those things I sometimes post more in my Tumblr, where most of my HR-fan-follows are and where I can "shit post" a lot more than i can here.
Quite colorful....do wish there was a bit more of a background, but it's good for what it is.
Have you ever done sketches like this on paper, with markers or colored pencils, etc? It would be interesting to see how it would turn out in trad media.
In terms of fully-colored, non-grayscale traditional art really close to my “pencil line-and-wash” digital art, I’ve slightly experimented with traditional versions🤔(including with colored pencils and markers🙂👍) Not mostly in red colored pencil linework like here, but I’ve done a couple. (Coincidentally, I did one of my experiments ~the same time as your comment!😂)
My 1st, traditional “pencil line-and-wash,” almost monochrome sketch was in colored pencil and watercolor on Canson XL cold-pressed watercolor paper, done on Feb. 24. My 2nd experiment was a complementary-colored (by a mouth and eyes😉) smaller quick sketch, done with a fude nib fountain pen, fountain pen ink, 2.0 mm lead holder, 2.0 mm red lead, and alcohol markers in my Pentalic Traveler Artist Sketchbook/Traveler Pocket Journal. This doodle/small sketch was done on Feb. 29. (I didn’t see your NG comment due to also having college homework.🤷♀️😵💫)
While the sketches themselves were not drawn best imo😥, I loved how they both looked in these mediums!😊If I wanted my quick sketches to have multi-colored, more smoothly-colored blocks, I think I’d use alcohol markers: they bleed, but they have far quicker prep and dry times, especially as a commuting and campus-traversing college student.🙂
I’ll describe more sometime, in my “SerndestArt's Sketchbook” Art Forum (including the thumbnail and recordings of the 1st experiment).
