So you're growing a colony of 'em, eh?...cool.

What substrate do you use, wood chips? Or maybe grog from low-fired stuff?... But seriously, they're cute. And since they're all sold, you obviously make some winners.

DonaldLPatten responds:

Thank you 😊

They're cute... I see you take photos of your work, too. You might want to put a light on the right side so you don't have those cast shadows on one side.

If I was close to Deer Isle, I would check out the school.

DonaldLPatten responds:

I should get a better light set up. Haystacks is a great place. I’d recommend going.

By the FSM's meatballs, I don't believe it! Not only is there another artist on here using trad media, but subtractive technique on top of that...amazing.

I thought I was the only one, until I saw your ceramic happy mushrooms.

The piece has a slightly eerie feel to it. If that's what you were going for, you succeeded.

DonaldLPatten responds:

Thank you. Making Subtractive Charcoal figure drawings is something I’ve been working on since February. It’s a really interesting process. I attend multiple life drawing classes every week to practice drawing and to be making art with other artists. I will be posting so many life drawings next year.

Never thought I'd see ceramics on NG of all places! It's terrific that one of the old crafts is getting some exposure here.

DonaldLPatten responds:

I’m glad you like them. I love making ceramic artworks and I’ll post more soon.

Nice. It's got an early 70's underground comics feel...

The composition is a bit cluttered & lopsided but considering it's two dangerous characters squaring off, maybe that can't be helped. Anyway it's good. We don't see enough pen work like this in NG.

VWAR responds:

I've really liked The Maxx comics and its animated varient between mr gone and maxx fighting scene at a gas station, with also chainsaw man inspiration to the mix making this drawing exist! and i really appreciate you and rest of mah folks passin' by to appreciate my work! thank you!!

This is the first of its kind that I've seen...it looks like the drum was changed into some kind of portal to Hell. (I didn't know they had cities down there!) 😄

SourCherryJack responds:

It's just red kool-aid, not a river of blood, just to clear that up!

And here I thought the Elvis-style pompadour was dead!...but seriously, you're the first colorblind artist I've ever met. That's amazing. Presumably Mike speaks in that announcer voice, like "wearing the RED TRUNKS, at SIXFOOTONE and 227POUNDZ. It's BOB!..."The Battler"!...FERGUSOOONNNNN!"

SullyGuille responds:

Thank you so much!!!!! Yeah he totally speaks that way, thanks for commenting!!! By the way tha'ts why I use flashy and unnatural colors, because then I can't be wrong about a skin tone, for example

Fit female physiques are the best kind, hands down.

Sarou120 responds:

Couldn't agree more!

Robert Crumb might like this, if he ever saw it...

DancwartVonTronje responds:

I don't know who that is, but it's probably a good thing :3

This looks kinda like a scene from a porn flick that is also a spoof of Judge Judy & some demon-themed horror movie...

DancwartVonTronje responds:

I don't really know what the context is :p. I've seen the linked meme circulating. And it reminds me of this certain friend

Artist in various media (mostly traditional), craftsman & general DIYer. I make no guarantee of regular posting--work will go up as circumstances permit.
