That's quite a fast-draw technique...

I can't help but think that normally, she must be _very_ uncomfortable. Especially when she's sitting down.

snotrat responds:

good thing she floats!

After reading the caption, the dialogue is less surreal now.

Also, with a title like "the volleyball of power" you could make a great animated clip if you play it right...it would surely have to be A-rated, or at least M.

Maxwell-28 responds:

Nah, there's no need for such a high age range for a death that can easily be censored. For example, the ball could hit the boy while raising a large curtain of sand and, when it comes down, reveal that he has the halo (so he has been killed).

The way she looks, she can whack me anytime she _wants_.

Lotsa bright colors... I get the impression you had a good time when you were drawing those.

KhaosKitsune617 responds:

had a very good time.

I like how Chili Con has thunder thighs...girls like that can be fun.

vonschloss responds:

better believe it

Guess there won't be any smile from _this_ emoticon...

FunnyPlant responds:

actually this being an emoticon makes a bajillion times more sense

Interesting... It ain't bad overall. However:

1. The background could use a bit more definition. You could add a bit here & there so it looks like a moonscape.

2. The armor is cool but--I'm not sure how much realism you were going for here--a functional chest plate won't make a pair of boobs pop out. Certainly not the nipples. OTOH if you're going for sex appeal then ignore this comment.

3. I dig the helmet...maybe render the chainmail on the neck a bit looser? Put in a fold or two, so Ms. Moonknight can actually move her head.

Anyway you're off to a good start. Keep it up.

Sirbeartoad responds:

100% agree on all of them now I cant un see the chainmail lol
with the chest plate it was in a one of the refs I found and thought it looked spicy lmao
def need to study Armor more, with the background I just got lazy :a
I really appreciate the feedback :D

That's the cutest version of Death I've seen so far...first time I've seen it as a Pokemon, also.

If this creature comes for me on my final day... You did a good job but seriously, this isn't scary at all.

SullyGuille responds:

Yeah I really can't draw scary so I just go for cutesy instead. My kind on death

And with that, you summoned him into our world...where he can scare the bejesus out of everyone, wreak havoc, & probably abduct some cute young girl to be his bride.

But seriously, it ain't bad. Did you watch any of the old cartoons? There was an animated series going for a while, prior to the Internet Era. Your illo reminds me of it. I can hear his voice inside my head right now. >|-D

SullyGuille responds:

Damn, poor cute young girl. I do have to watch the show, but I got hyperfixated on the musical for a while there and later the movie. Thanks a lot!

The impressionistic aspect is definitely there...

If you ever do another piece like this, maybe try making her hair more plantlike instead of the waterfall of fire it appears to be. Wilted flowers? Moss? You could render it that way...

Her head is at a great angle for conveying a feeling of being tired & spent.

When did you paint this, exactly?

AbstractOutliers responds:

Thank you for the feedback, it's much appreciated. I'll have to check if you want more specific, but it was painted during my senior year, so likely early 2016.
I definitely missed the mark on the hair. I realized after finishing that the color was flowing in the opposite direction, and the color choice was a bit much for what I was initially going for. I had wanted it to be like flower petals wilting , starting to turn brown.
To be honest, I kept it as is because I ended up liking the way the orange flowed over the lip of the pot.
I'm glad the exhaustion shows through the body language. I have a photo with better lighting I'll have to add soon.
It would be great to paint this again, see the changes over the years.
Thanks again for taking the time.
