It's a good start...could've done a bit more with the color, unless you intended it as strictly bichromatic. No doubt quite a few of us will relate to this piece.

Esperance responds:

I usually work in 1-bit so the intent was to also just stick to two colors here as well so it worked out exactly like I hoped it would

Cute, but why does he only have two feet?

Honey mustard.

Is this a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing kinda character? It seems that way...

The composition is a bit off. Maybe nudge the bone thief frog slightly more left & add a little something in the top right corner to balance it out. But I'm wondering how you got that background texture. Anyway, good job.

DevilRat responds:

The background coloring is due to... A mixture of two brushes. It's some brushset with " Won't teach you how to paint ".

Is this traditional or digital? It looks kinda acrylic-like... Am wondering where the light source is here since part of Holmes' face is apparently lit up from the lower left by something that is not illuminating anything else. But that's a minor quibble...overall it's great.

I hear you on feeling slightly isolated here. NG has plenty of community spirit but let's face it: neither of us work in any of the styles that are most popular on this site. Am always surprised when I meet someone else here who does art _without_ a stylus & pad, or a mouse.

Tenebrare responds:

The extra acrylic effect is probably because of Glaze program, which in 2023 has become mandatory for artists to use if they oppose automated AI scraping and theft.

I used to do traditional painting too, but less these days, proximity war etc etc - has done some cost-effect-math.

As for the light source - since it is a study based on scene from the film, I presume it is just a random artificial light they tossed in his face. 1980s, they probably filmed a lot in some studio. However it is still the best Sherlock Holmes TV series ever filmed.

The text is copied from the place I originally post my works - the 'isolation' refers to web and socials in general that I not only do unpopular styles (i.e. I do not do anime nor calarts ) , I also like obnoxious things no one else likes. Pinhead being 1st popular/iconic thing I do like, but that i also mess up by mainly drawing his human self as I am intrigued by his origin story - like being born into Victorian England, fighting in world war and being nice pacifist kind of person prior turning what-ever he ended up being in films.

I am not sure if I commented here somewhere, but after being commented as such - for being too focused on Pinhead's past, I ended up adding pins to drawings I post online as its what is expected of "Hellraiser" art otherwise. Same reason while drawing for WW1 era opening for my fan comic, I have not posted a single panel WIPs as "cenobites" appear form 2nd half of the story and people simply have expectations.

Sometimes it would be nice to talk about silly fandom things, but if you fan things from 1980s and ice-ages or do not do anime or calarts, you already are at disadvantage as social media focuses only whats currently popular. Best i can do is be-me and hope someone is not scared of me and talks to me after finding my dubious scribbles:D

If Gozer ever returns to terrorize & enslave the populace or--the most terrifying scenario possible--the female Ghostbusters reboot women come back, the old team just might not be enough. Venkman, Spengler & the rest will do what they can but...if that ain't enough to stop 'em all. With Pinhead backing 'em up, they will win. Because Pinhead will do what the other guys won't.

Also, how in the flying Philadelphia f*** are you this productive? Do you live on caffeine & Adderall or...?

Tenebrare responds:

I am even slow compared to the other guys on job.

But in serious tone, I have practiced speed separately. I took whole one year as a goal to get faster. Every morning I started my speed practice and did that hours and hours and hours a day.

My brain has ideas Metric-tons worth - I cannot doodles as fast as my brain spits out of those. take Pinhead for example - I do daily doodles with him. I.e. Pinhead could be a superman - his surname starts with S after all! Joker - c'mon there's this 3rd film which makes him the original meme lord or the later films, where he use technology - so he is also an internet troll, Euhm- Captain America - even when he is British. After he got hello kitty cube, he could attend a k-pop band - he has cool dress already, Be a sherlock holmes, as his human self surely must have read the original stories, a vampire - because they sparkle, fight werewolf because I dislike werewolves, drink tea with xenomorph - as I like doodling xenomorphs, do ... rule 34s like a good ol' cenobite would do and half of hellraiser fanart seems to be about it. I already did an emo-Pinhead with emo haircut and all. Had to cut the pins off though. Kept the dress and the grid tho.

See... I have all those silly ideas and then I take cup of coffee and start a day with my friend here. Like last night ... no, that was day before on Sunday I spent actually full day designing mister Pinheads human forms army clothing based on the one liner he says in 3rd film, where he served. I mean ... uh.. wait.. what... I mean don't do that - make me talk about art.. or Pinhead As i can do this endlessly.

Additionally wait till you hear that i have here also a small team working on making one of us into real-world cenobite (no, wont be me) .

PS! I DO live on caffeine and I even sleep with my Cintiq pen under my pillow. If I sleep at all or when I sleep!

PPS! Hmm. I should finish my Deus Ex augmented Pinhead too. Instead nano blades Adam Jensen has, he could have nono-hooks? Err. I go fetch my coffee now. I just woke up.

Waitaminnit. Where's Pinhead??

Tenebrare responds:

*laughs* Owwww.

I sometimes try to keep some limits with my Pinheads, so have posted some older works here. I mean since 2nd week of April I have doodled a Pinhead a day (at least) and imagine if I'd post here now like what 70 pinheads? I'd need to change my user name to "Daily Pinhead" or something. Admitted, I do doodle more of his human self than his demon self though and most often I add pins for public posts separately. Tehehe.

Not bad...you could've done a bit more with her hair, instead of what appears to be filler scribble. The face is rendered rather nicely.

tee-dot-jay-dot responds:

I appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Not too much at all. It just needs some development. Like will this be cute, or big & scary, or just really weird?...figure out what you're going for with this piece & then start pushing the envelope.

DeOOzeter responds:

Thanks for the feedbak

Katy needs meds... But seriously, I like this one. For once, a cartoon character that isn't trying to be cute.

DeOOzeter responds:

Thanks
