This is the best piece I've seen from you since I started following your account. You have outdone yourself this time. The shading on the robot & dead aliens (at least I think they're aliens), the depth of field...it all works. A bit more blood puddled around the corpses, maybe a splash here & there, would help. But overall it is excellent. Am curious as to what media you used for this piece...or should I say "what program"?

snotrat responds:

thank you, i used procreate for this and nearly all my digital art

Very urban...not sure what else to say about it.

Presumably there will be better lighting & shade once it's in the film?

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

well, i don't know if i will change the lighting and shading as i think it's already looking like a street enough to me, but thanks for the comment i may think about it, maybe i will put some parked cars in the background, but i'm not sure as it's just a background that will appear like for a few seconds on the full animation

There ain't no privacy in his swamp...

SourCherryJack responds:

To be fair, it's not the most inviting of ecosystems.

Is he related to the Democratic presidential candidate from the mid-80's?...

(You know someone would pop the question, sooner or later)

DancwartVonTronje responds:

Sorry, but no idea what you're talking about 😅

How long did it take you to draw this?

Tenebrare responds:

This particular one I think was from idea to execution 3 days. How I do those things I sometimes post more in my Tumblr, where most of my HR-fan-follows are and where I can "shit post" a lot more than i can here.

Quite colorful....do wish there was a bit more of a background, but it's good for what it is.

Have you ever done sketches like this on paper, with markers or colored pencils, etc? It would be interesting to see how it would turn out in trad media.

SerndestsArt responds:

In terms of fully-colored, non-grayscale traditional art really close to my “pencil line-and-wash” digital art, I’ve slightly experimented with traditional versions🤔(including with colored pencils and markers🙂👍) Not mostly in red colored pencil linework like here, but I’ve done a couple. (Coincidentally, I did one of my experiments ~the same time as your comment!😂)

My 1st, traditional “pencil line-and-wash,” almost monochrome sketch was in colored pencil and watercolor on Canson XL cold-pressed watercolor paper, done on Feb. 24. My 2nd experiment was a complementary-colored (by a mouth and eyes😉) smaller quick sketch, done with a fude nib fountain pen, fountain pen ink, 2.0 mm lead holder, 2.0 mm red lead, and alcohol markers in my Pentalic Traveler Artist Sketchbook/Traveler Pocket Journal. This doodle/small sketch was done on Feb. 29. (I didn’t see your NG comment due to also having college homework.🤷‍♀️😵‍💫)

While the sketches themselves were not drawn best imo😥, I loved how they both looked in these mediums!😊If I wanted my quick sketches to have multi-colored, more smoothly-colored blocks, I think I’d use alcohol markers: they bleed, but they have far quicker prep and dry times, especially as a commuting and campus-traversing college student.🙂

I’ll describe more sometime, in my “SerndestArt's Sketchbook” Art Forum (including the thumbnail and recordings of the 1st experiment).

This gives new meaning to "washed in the blood of the lamb"...

What media did you use to make this wonderful piece?

Tenebrare responds:

Blender and Photoshop. :)

We don't see too much homoerotic stuff on here, so this is a change of pace.

The piece ain't bad overall but the darkness obscures a lot of it. I understand why you did it...fits in with the theme & all. But widening the overhead spotlight just a little bit would help this illo a great deal.

Folbeer responds:

This is a personal style, most of the works, if you look at the art tape, made in a similar style

The heads could be a bit more fishlike...the scales & fins are great. The piece certainly looks worthy of inking onto some triad member's back.

7darkriders responds:

thank you for the feedback

Is it Hunter Queen Veena, or Harlem Pimp Veena?...but seriously, she looks dangerous enough.

Most of the colors are on the warm side. Maybe put in some cooler hues in the shadowed areas for balance next time?...just a thought.

vonschloss responds:

You're meant to think she's just some entitled rich lady, but then you realize you're fucked when you find her sitting in the throne of the guild.

Artist in various media (mostly traditional), craftsman & general DIYer. I make no guarantee of regular posting--work will go up as circumstances permit.
