Not bad but are you going for cuteness here? Because if so, it would've worked better with a puppy instead of a full-grown wolf...assuming your canid is a wolf. The plump belly & the happy expression look slightly out of place on him. Of course if that's what your client wants then kudos for delivering. :-D Technically, it works.

ShangXian responds:

Her character is an adult wolf with this colour scheme, I asked her brother since it was a surprise and I didn't want to tell her I was planning a gift art. Cuteness wasn't the aim, I wanted to show the independent attitude of my friend through the wolf's appearance, and the wolf's look is based on real life photos of wolves found on Internet in order to get proportions right while at the same time I combined it with a more semi-cartoony feel. These are examples of wolf photos I used as reference to break the figure into mental geometric shapes: https://www.warrenphotographic.co.uk/photography/bigs/03981-Grey-Wolf.jpg

I notice that people tend to give them a slender, thin belly, usually in semi-realistic/cartoony versions. I opted for something more attuned with the animal's silhouette.

In a scrapped version it was originally her wolf character fighting off a giant snake who represented post-Covid symptoms since she had to deal with them for almost a year.

But then I opted for something more neutral and linked to the adventurous spirit. Thanks for the feedback though, I liked it ^^

Cool. Is she related to Sentry at all?

KhaosKitsune617 responds:

sentry?

It would be interesting to see that on the next version of the dollar bill...

ShangXian responds:

And now I would love to see a dollar bill with this triangle XD
It would be interesting and eerie at the same time.

Artistically it's good but I gotta say... Whether that creature is in heaven, hell or anywhere else makes no difference. If you come face to face with it (which face?) after you die, you've got _problems_.

KhaosKitsune617 responds:

it is in hell. seeing all faces means problems. (i was sleepy af in first reply lol)

I appreciate seeing this on NG...one crafter to another.

Though I'm not a leatherworker, I recognize workmanship when I see it. You have it, definitely.

Re Etsy: There are craftspeople who profitably sell on Etsy, but you have to work at it. I think it's still doable even if it's not like it was a decade+ ago. If I were gonna do it, I wouldn't worry about factories in Asia...make your stuff, make it as well as you can, & market the hell out of it.

anymany responds:

thank you!

I have thought about selling on Etsy but nowadays it seem like it like an American Ali Express.

Perhaps I'll set up a self hosted shop and sell them but there are still a few things I am missing before I can make the process efficient

Wayyyy too preachy & doctrinaire...it's a political diatribe thinly veiled as a comic strip.

This is coming from someone who agrees that marijuana prohibition was a bad idea, btw.

Ninjoj responds:

I'm guessing you're referring to Tez in terms of diatribe - Please do explain to me how you would have written dialogue for a character based on the Aztec Principle of "Enemy of Both Sides" ?

Plus I don't think explaining pharmacokinetics that should be well known public knowledge is doctrinaire. and like- you can't be surprised that a Astral Projection themed Sci-Punk comic is Punk and has Science in it.

Nice scribble technique, there.

STearleArt responds:

Ty, it's just a simple hatching technique

If Kermit got stoned, he would either be hilarious or completely annoying... Interesting concept.

clave4e responds:

Depends on how much you smoked compared to him 🚬

She's cute...cutest nuclear device I've seen so far.

She's not radioactive, I hope.

Creachanoid responds:

Extremely! Don’t worry though, her restraints are lined with lead and other radiation dampening materials! Been a bit since I posted this one, Im glad that the attention she has received so far is positive! I plan to draw more of her and other OCs soon, right now have my hands tied with a project I am helping out with. The rendering isnt the-best, sketching is more my strong suit rather than a completed piece anyway. Thank you so much!

*insert laugh track for the Chiefs here*

ShangXian responds:
