I rarely ever rate anything five stars, on account of having high standards & being unashamedly old-fashioned. But this demo reel is fantastic.

With talent like yours, I surely hope NG isn't the bulk of your voiceover work. If you're not being paid well for this...you damn well should be.

You're the first resident of a former British colonial possession I've ever run into who does a Valley Girl voice. I don't think I've heard it from anyone in England, let alone Australia, Canada or anywhere else outside California!

Thank you so much for the kind words, I like to think I'm somehow like a human Weebo from Flubber or Bumblebee from Transformers and just play the clips in my head of how it should sound and then try and mimic them all :P

It does sound sinister in parts... Have you ever heard of John Cage?

JimmyTheCaterpillar responds:

i had heard of him vaguely in conjunction with other artists in the vein that i know,, but thanks to you i looked over him a bit more today and listened to a number of pieces! I loved [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrUhbnrxZ4M&ab_channel=FloraledaSacchi-Topic] in particular!!

The intro brought back memories of playing Donkey Kong...

JimmyTheCaterpillar responds:

Donkey Kong has some of the best encapsulations of emotion in video game music out there so that's real!!! thanks!!

Until today I thought the original was by Stevie Ray Vaughn....appreciate the info.

The drums are a bit disruptive but I presume that was intentional. Anyway, it's a cool track.

JizzyJazz responds:

i did mix it in a kind of unorthodox fashion to try and emulate that big roomy and buzzy sound that the original had as a result of the equipment at the time and the fact that it was all recorded live. it does sound a bit weird as a result but i think the attempt comes across. ty for the 5

Not bad for a start. What program did you make this with?

A bit more variety in the notes would help...consider what kind of mood you're trying to evoke, then compose the track from that. Maybe listen to a few movie soundtracks first if you want to get some ideas. "Druiden" sounds pretty sword-&-sorcery; you could check out theme tunes from stuff like the LOtR flicks, Clash of the Titans, etc. Also the drum track is a bit too obvious...for a tune conveying magic or mystery, the emphasis should be on the melody, not the beat. Beat emphasis is better for action-oriented stuff, like first-person shooter games.

YazzyBlubber responds:

9h wow thanks for the constructive criticism!!! I used garage band for android. Im not very good with music and did something quick, although ilove music i focus more on spriteworka d coding wich is a lot in itself. Thanks tho!
