It wasn't an easy choice to make as I have a few nuggets amidst the ore here, if I do say so myself.

Was tempted to post In the Catacombs as I'm proud of that one, but it is b&w & so not colorful enough for the kinda audience one gets around here. When that occurred to me, the choice got easier. My candidate is

_Errrgghh_...

These all-nighters will shorten my life, no doubt.

But what else can you do when there's just enough physical discomfort to keep you awake, but not enough to interfere with mental focus to an extent?... Nothing left except reading, & an occasional snack.

The only upside to this is it does contribute to being self-educated.

@ShadenLines Have you read up on chronotypes? Seems some of us are just naturally inclined to sleep at later times, or even to need more or less sleep, from back when we were tribes. Unconventional times of waking may not be bad entirely, just a conflict with normalized work hours and environments...

No, I haven't. Hadn't even heard of chronotypes until you mentioned them. I've been a night owl for most of my life, so the concept makes sense. Now I gotta research this. Appreciate you mentioning it.

Nice work too!

Thanks! Been thinking I should do a couple more text-based pieces...

If naught else it's a great excuse to stay up at unconvential times. 😁 Does make sense though. Feats for evolutionary tribal survival.

More text-based pieces sounds good!
