I remember at one point when I was on a student exchange program that we had an exclusive offer that if we apologized for the Boston tea party we'd get citizenship into the UK since my group was from Mass.

I'm beginning to wonder some 13 odd years later if that offer could be reconsiddered in a more serious light.

If it is ever seriously suggested, that will be a sign of cultural decline. At one time it was understood that an apology was exclusively from someone who committed a wrong _to_ the person(s) who was affected by the deed in question. In the current age of vicarious offense & guilt by association, too many people have forgotten that....in some cases, conveniently.

Members of my family never made it out of Germany during WW2, but you will never see me demand an apology from a German today. It's safe to say that most of Germany's current citizens hadn't even been born during the Third Reich! Even those who had were small children then, & so had no control over (& probably no understanding of) what was happening at the time.

yo my friend, i know how it is to feel like you don't belong in ng, sometimes i feel i dont belong anywhere at the 2020s internet anymore (specially after my youtube got banned lol). Drawing on paper is kinda outdated if you wanna get popular nowadays, but if you prefer it to hobbie that's fine then. Digital art will be outdated after AI art gets improved and popular enough.
Also, you're old like at the times there was no eletricity? My dad is that old too, i can call you my newgrounds dad. Also i'm sorry for you stopped to like women at the age of 30s, i think i will be loving big tits forever

I was exaggerating, but sometimes it feels that way. When I was born the US was definitely a modern civilization (the mid-70's) but it _was_ before the Internet Era.

As for art, I don't chase views or likes...don't need the stress & aggravation. I post stuff here & try to get eyes on it to a certain degree...but after that, I don't worry about it. If someone on NG likes the kinds of art I do then (s)he will find it sooner or later. I'm not after fame & I don't play to the crowd. These days I just do it for myself...when I have the time. Lately I've mostly been too busy or too sick to do any real artwork.

Your YT channel got banned?? When did that happen? And Jesus on toast, WHY?!?... I've seen more offensive stuff on YouRube than your cartoons. I'll bet most of what I've seen is still up & getting views, too.

Edit: While I was born in the modern age, I have in fact lived without electricity. Once I erect a shelter on my land, I will only have power when I'm running the generator. When it's off, the only light I'll have will be from the sun, campfires, & maybe an oil lantern if I can find one! |-D

also it's "Shade 'n' Lines" i always thought it was "Shaden Lines" lol

I'm not sure I agree with your statement about the internet (& particularly (anti)social media).
With anonymity and the protection of screens allows us to say things with little to no fear of tangible negative repercussions. But why use that to say what you really mean when you can indulge in a digital fantasy and be whatever you want to be? Can't do the latter in RL.

Putting on a fake front or alter ego is just as plausible. You can even do both at the same time on here: posting shoot-from-the-hip judgments & sharing your most raw opinions--through a digital online mask.

@ShadenLines yo, my dad is a bit older than you, he is at his 60s already. I do chase views, likes, followers, etc, as i want to get money out of art, if possible make a living out of it and be an influencer, talk about life, society, politics, religion, etc
lol yeah, it got banned, i tried to post the newest eofs ep (by which is basically an hentai/porn) at youtube, not as it is, but fully censored and basically every porn part cut off, it has 26 minutes and the youtube version had just 7 or 8 and a little tutorial teaching how to watch it uncensored at bitchute. I had never got a strike before, so i thought at worst i would get a strike them forget about trying to post it at youtube, but no, youtube did ban me lol

Time to find an alternative platform. How about Vimeo? You gotta pay for a membership but once you do that, you can post whatever you like as long as it's properly rated... Do you have any followers on your Bitchute account? You could use a Vimeo account as a way to attract viewers to your stuff on Bitchute.

@ShadenLines well, bitchute is basically an unknown site here in brazil, mostly of my brazilians followers never heard about it, i have 40subs there, but i think those are all brazilians who made an account to follow me. For what i have seen of bitchute it's where americans post their right wing videos, right wing fake news, conspiracy theories etc. I will take a look at vimeo, but i don't believe it works, there is no match for youtube, that's why youtube treat people like they do, cuz there is no actual competition to them. Sites like vimeo, dailymotion and bitchute just have the trash youtube throw away like me.
I think i'm back to where i started, to seek followers one by one like i did in the beginning, i will be using social medias like facebook to that and bitchute just to post the videos, but i will take a look at vimeo too

But I thought you *liked* right-wing fake news & conspiracy theories... ',;-)

@ShadenLines lol, well i like conspiracy theories, fake news are bullshit they just make the right wing look even more stupid (i'm not a right wing, nor a left wing). I'm into the conspiracy, christianism and i'm a metalhead, but i'm not interested in the conspiracy audience, nor the chrstian and nor the metalhead. At first i was interested in the (extreme) metal fanbase and at the (brazilian) right wing, but from experience i have learned they are not a good audience to aim to. Nowadays i aim for independent animation enthusiasts (regardless of their political opinions, religion or the lack off, musical taste, etc), perverts into hentai/porn, and people into black humour

@ShadenLines yeah, you're probably right when you put it that way
