chainsaw, that's cool, here in brazil since we can't have guns i would have a chainsaw to self defense if i lived in a house (not an apartment). Also, i don't celebrate birthdays (not even mine), but happy birthday my friend, hails from brazil

I don't celebrate birthdays either...nor do I tell anyone on that day because I don't wanna hear "happy birthday" in the usual chipper tones. If I do hear it, I immediately tell him/her to STFU. The reason for this policy is because I'm over 30...wayyy over.
Birthday celebrations are only for the young, the very young & the very old. For 20-somethings it's a good reason to party; for little kids it's fun & cake; for the elderly it's a triumph. (Presuming they're still enjoying life, that is)
But I needed to buy the saw. Definitely will need it in weeks & months to come...probably for a few years. Once my lease is up, where I'm going there's a lot of trees & I gotta take some of 'em down. Will probably put it in a blog outside here or something.
Re self-defense: If Brasilia's gov is prohibitionist on firearms then yeah, that sucks. However you do have options. I'm in an apartment right now & I have the saw. It wouldn't necessarily be my first choice for combat, mainly because it's a bit clumsy (you can't swing it that fast) & it takes a while to get it running if you're starting with a cold engine. It's dangerous as hell & the intimidation value is off the charts...the noise alone is scary. But if you want something you can pick up & use at a moment's notice, there are better options.
Can citizens buy sporting goods in Brazil? How about tools & hardware? If so then you got a few choices already.
@ShadenLines yo, i hang with a switchblade, it's not legal either here in brazil, it is a criminal misdemeanor. I also have 2 airsoft pistols, one based in a berreta m9, other based in a brazilian pistol called taurus pt 24/7 (the model some cops use here in brazil), a small toy revolver and a lighter that looks like a small beretta pistol. There is no legal way to a civilian hang around with a gun here in brazil. You can have at home or at work, but it's very bureaucratic to do it, i know many people that have stores (and some have guns), but none of them have the legal permission to. Even if you manage to get a permission to have a gun we still have forbidden calibers here, the strongest revolver you could get was a 38 SPL, but recently they did restric it too. So the best someone can have here is a .380ACP or a 32 long colt loaded with 32ACP ammo
The brazilian states have different laws, like in Rio de Janeiro you can't port a blade bigger than 10cm (about 4 inches), it's a crime, not a criminal misdemeanor, here in my state (São Paulo) there is no specific law for such. (So technically speaking we could hang around with a spear with a <4 inches blade size in Rio)
Having such things as chainsaw, axe, bat, scythe, crossbow, pellet guns are allowed here
Stuff like this could almost make me cry...on the right day for it.
@ShadenLines yeah, living in an underdeveloped country is like playing a game in the very hard mode. But thank God i'm doing good here, but i surely plan to get out of brazil
@ShadenLines You’re welcome.
