One of the best things I've seen since starting up on NG...which says a lot. Few pieces get five stars from me. This one has it all.

Only one question: how did you achieve such realistic movement with Cutie's hands? Are the magnets in his fingers or...?

PoultrygeistGame responds:

wow i cannot express how crazy amazing that compliment is.

Grim has magnets in his hand and then a magnet in the wire armature attached to his body. the hands are cast with no negative space for the magnets. i attach them with an acrylic epoxy and paint them with a paint that bonds to plastic so it looks like one piece of hand. the magnets in the body are attached with plumbers epoxy (the clay one). those are coated in fabric so the shadows of the cloak mostly hide the magnets.

i will answer any questions about film techniques. i truly believe in sharing all film knowledge so we all get better. especially if someone wants to try stop motion.

You should send a link to this clip to every right-wing influencer out there. Seriously...if you play it well, you could get enough cash to do a full-length version of this.

Edit: Really?...okay, then send a link to this to The Nation (https://www.thenation.com/ ) instead. They'll love it.

ToadBurgerTV responds:

Right wing because Pepe? No laser canons for you, sir.

You watched a lot of Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote toons when you were little, didn't you?

FossyPickles responds:

you betcha sweet bippy i infact didn’t!

This sums up the greatest danger for men in the 21st-century dating market.

...even in 2024, I'm just not used to hearing a voice like that from a woman with big hanging knockers. (Is that a woman? Or a trans guy pre-op?) Also, "ridiculously long" is right. The "bat soup" line is funny.

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

you get used to it, some people even say my characters would get strange if they had not my voice lol

Hmm...interesting. Also somewhat surreal. If you were going for that, you succeeded.

All because of idle curiosity about what you were doing with Carl these days... Anyway, it's good.

If I ever paint Carl again, I'll have to remember she has green teeth & eyes.

Katsfire responds:

Nah she doesn't lmao, it was a colour palette animation but the project got cancelled. But thanks for checking out my other stuff :)

Let me guess: you're sick of the annual orgy of holiday commercialism too?...only difference is for you, the worst one is Easter whereas for me it's Christmas. Or did you just reel this off the top of your head.

The textures & character modeling could use a bit of improvement but overall, it's weirdly interesting.

Also - yes. If that creature showed up in my house I wouldn't tolerate it, either.

jthrash responds:

It's really not that deep. I just thought it would be funny if the Easter Bunny had some free-loader relative called the Keister Bunny that would be a burden to whatever household it decided to raid.

This was a classic example of "doing a low-poly N64-esque art style as an excuse to poop out a 3D animation much faster than if I had, at the very least, took the time to properly work around such limitations and at least made some cool-looking angular character designs and pixel textures like the best artists of the N64/PS1 era." I have since learned that I really need to take my time in the pre-production phase for 3D animation, low-res or otherwise, not rush the modeling and texturing phases just so I can get to the animation ASAP. Though that does kind of mean I won't have any more animations to show until at least 2025, I'm only one person working on this stuff, you know.

Still, glad you found it an interesting fever dream of an amateur cartoon!

I think it's kinda cool.

Have you watched any claymation or foamation films?...like any of Will Vinton's work?

SillyElixir responds:

I've seen Mark Twain movie

Re 2:09.68 - I didn't know you had that going on. That sucks, dear...but yeah, Yoko Ono does that to people.

riot100233 responds:

yeah

For a piece consisting entirely of crude sketches, it's awesome. Thank you for putting my (ahem) work into it.

I learned something from watching: shitposting is a legit skill. It's almost a kind of performance art. It looks like animation works better than still images, at least in this context.

Also, the beat fucking _slaps_. Kudos to @kidasper.

MetalSlayer69 responds:

you haven't seen shitposting as an art form 'till you've seen ZabuJard's catalog
